Prompt Chaining
Prompt chaining is the practice of breaking a task into several prompts, where the output of each AI step becomes the input for the next.
What Prompt Chaining means
Asking an AI to do a complex job in one giant prompt often gives messy results. Prompt chaining splits the work into a sequence of smaller, focused prompts, passing the result of each step along to the next.
For example, to create an article you might chain three prompts: one to generate an outline, a second to expand that outline into a draft, and a third to polish the tone. Each step does one job well.
Why Prompt Chaining matters
Prompt chaining is how you get AI to handle bigger, multi-step tasks reliably. It is a core idea behind building real AI workflows and agents.
